In the lead-up to the conference we hosted a monthly reading group to discuss some key and current abolitionist texts. We hope these discussions will help inform collective strategy and movement-building as we approach the conference.
This group met in London, but the readings were made available online so that others could follow along individually, or host their own group.
List of sessions:
- Introduction to Penal Abolition: A social movement, a practice, a way of life
- What’s wrong with reform? What are non-reformist reforms?
- Feminist, queer, antiracist approaches to abolition
- Transformative justice & abolition
