Online / Thursday 22 February 2024 / 6:00PM (London), 8:00PM (Ramallah), 1:00PM (New York).

A recording and transcription of this event are now available here.

What are the intersections of prison liberation and anticolonial liberation? How can the abolitionist movement in the Global North learn from prisoner liberation movements in Palestine’s decades-long struggle for liberation and within this present moment?

This online teach-out will feature critical interventions that map the structural links in-between Britain’s counter-terrorism structures and rising criminilisation of pro-Palestine protestors, to Israel’s carceral-colonial tools of apartheid and its massive escalation in the detention of Palestinians, in the context of its current genocide on Gaza. Speakers will span the violent carceral tactics in use in the West Bank, occupied Jerusalem, and within Gaza right now; histories of Palestinian prisoner resistance; and sites of criminalisation that are being deployed to suppress the internationalist movement for a Free Palestine in Britain. Join us for an urgent analysis of the road to abolitionist liberation that runs through Palestine. Opportunities for Q&A at the end.
